$5 Polymer, First Prefix, "Recoloured". 1992 & 93 $5 was hard to distinguish from the 1993 $10 note when in poor light, so darker shades of ink were used in the 1995 "recoloured" version. Commencing with the polymer $10 in 1993 the first 2 digits of the serial number would denote the year. The first regular circulation $5 to follow this format was the 1995 note. |
